ANNUAL DAY OF PRAYER SET FOR THOSE WITH ADDICTIONS

 Recovery Sunday, an annual day of prayer for individuals and families who struggle with and are recovering from addictions, will be marked on Sunday, Sept.16.

Parishes will offer prayers at Mass for the intention of those suffering as a result of addictions, and Catholic Charities has reactivated its’ Recovery Help-line (1-888-744-7900) to assist those seeking treatment.

An Interfaith group has been formed to invite those of other faiths in the New York area to join in prayer at their services on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, Sept.14, 15 and 16.  The group has a web site, www.recoveryweekend.org with more information.

September has been designated as National Recovery Month by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment in Washington, D.C.
